
Me dedico al estudio de los procesos que nos permiten acceder a las palabras almacenadas en la memoria, y a intentar comprender mejor la estructura del léxico mental. Este campo de investigación no solo se centra en cómo recuperamos y estructuramos mentalmente las unidades básicas de la comunicación, sino que abarca de un modo más amplio el estudio de las interconexiones entre lenguaje, cerebro y emoción. En este contexto, he dirigido mi investigación hacia áreas específicas como son el procesamiento y representación de las palabras ambiguas y en cómo el contenido emocional puede influir en el procesamiento del lenguaje. Para llevar a cabo mi investigación me valgo de diversas técnicas conductuales y neurofisiológicas, incluyendo la pupilometría y la técnica de potenciales evocados. También he contribuido al desarrollo de bases de datos psicolingüísticas, las cuales son un recurso útil para la selección de estímulos experimentales.
