I am a predoctoral fellow (FPU20/03345) in the Psychology Department at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, where I am doing the PhD in Cognitive Science and Language under the supervision of Dr. Pilar Ferré. The general aim of my dissertation project is to study the relationship/interaction between language and epistemically unwarranted/suspect beliefs.
My research interests are:
- Epistemically unwarranted/suspect beliefs (EUB/ESB). Beliefs such as paranormal, pseudoscientific and conspiracy are widespread in the population, with associated problems at both the social and individual levels. Understanding the psychological mechanisms underlying the formation and maintenance of such EUB/ESB is crucial to prevent/counteract such adverse consequences.
- Individual differences in language. With the purpose to draw general/universal conclusions about language processing, individual differences have traditionally been ignored in psycholinguistic research. Recently, however, there has been a move to systematically studying individual differences affecting language as a means of advancing towards a richer and more realistic psycholinguistic knowledge.
- Affective language processing. Where does the emotional content of words lie and how does it interact during psycholinguistic processing? What dimensions define the affective space of words? What factors influence the affective processing of language?
